Here are some of the ways misting equipment can improve our lives. Not all of these ideas we have had a chance to try. If you come up with a creative way to use a Mister Fog Misting Kit, email us photos and a description and we’ll send you something nice in return. What? I don’t know yet.

Mister Fog Misting Kits were originally designed for canopies. What a great way to have portable out door cooling. However, after looking around, I realized how natural they are for patio covers and arbors. Even if your patio does not have a cover, one or two cables or ropes overhead is enough support for the lightweight tubing and nozzles.

Mister Fog Misting Kits are a great way to create a temporary water feature where none existed. It keeps kids cool and entertained for hours. Since the water evaporates so quickly the ground seldom even gets wet so there is no mess- no fuss. They are great in conjunction with bounce rooms, playgrounds and sports.

Misting systems are fast becoming standard equipment for all greenhouse and nursery applications. As an environmental control system, they can have a dramatic effect on greenhouse and nursery productivity and plant care. Greenhouse productivity is dependent on many factors. A misting system cannot control or affect all variables, but it can have a positive impact by regulating the temperature, humidity and moisture content within the greenhouse. This capability will promote increased health and productivity within the greenhouse by eliminating ‘plant water stress’, one of the most significant factors in the growth of all plants. Plants lose their moisture from evaporation through their leaves. They also gather carbon needed for growth in the form of carbon dioxide through the leaves. By controlling the plants pores through the use of a properly designed fog system, the results are stronger and healthier plants with optimum growth potential. Misting systems can also be used to introduce fertilizers by injecting nutrients directly into the atmosphere. The moisture and the nutrients are absorbed by the leaves of the plant.

Misting systems are extremely effective at eliminating odors associated with solid waste treatment facilities and microbial decomposition of animal waste. Common problems include carbon dioxide, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and methane. Carbon dioxide and methane are odorless and can be lethal. Mister Fog commercial systems provide an efficient and economical delivery system for all odor removal chemicals. The system is less expensive to operate and maintain than traditional air injection systems and can be used to economically remove workplace related odors for both interior and exterior applications.

Great for
Landfills and transfer stations
Poultry, cattle and hog barns
Horse Stables

In addition to the ability to provide odor neutralizing, fog systems are an effective method for dust suppression and air filtration. Our commercial line of misting equipment produces a high concentration of 10 micron fog droplets. This size water droplet provides optimum performance for attraction and suppression of PM 10 and smaller dust particles. The systems can remove breathable and fugitive dust suppression from .1 to 1000 microns. Dust surrounded by dense fog has little chance to escape.

Great for Paper production, Textile production, Concrete and gypsum recycling.

The prevention of heat stroke is a major focus of OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration). Here in Northern California wine country, we recently had a sad story about a pregnant grape picker who died from heat stroke. As I drive though the Central Valley where laborers are out harvesting our food in temperatures that often exceed 130 degrees in the sun, I marvel at their dedication but am distressed by their conditions. Heat stroke and extreme work conditions are easily preventable. In addition, it is a huge benefit for the farmer to offer better work conditions than other farms in terms of labor recruitment and productivity.

Mister Fog 12 Volt Misting Kits are an easy and economical way to comply with OSHA and offer the laborers better working conditions. The Cooling Canopies can be placed at the end of the row so the workers can take a short break at the end of the row where temperatures are 30- 40 degrees cooler than in the field. Also, the Misting Kits are easily adaptable to harvesting equipment itself. To do so, the nozzles could be zip tied to the conveyor belt frame. With the 4” flexible risers, the nozzles can be directed to the worker regardless of the direction of the wind. Our 35 gallon tanks would need to be strapped to the harvester and would be refilled from a tank at the end of the rows. The 12 Volt pump would also need to be strapped down and can easily be wired to the machine’s electrical system. This is another use I would love to have pictures and documentation how it works. Contact me at and we can make a deal. Thank you.

Anyone who watches pro football games has seen misters on the sidelines. Mister Fog systems are so affordable you don’t need to be a pro to enjoy the cooling.

Except for winter sports, it is hard to think of a sport where misting wouldn’t be a welcome addition.
Either the portable Versa Mist system or a canopy cooling station are a great way to help keep athletes cool and hydrated. The Versa Mist system looks like a pretty garbage can with, or without, a cart. Just fill it up and plug it in and get a blast of cool air. The Versa Mist comes with its own GFI (ground fault interrupter). The canopy can be hooked up to a hose and electrical plug if they are convenient. If not, a 12 V system and our 35 gallon auxiliary tank can provide cooling for about 4 hours without refilling.

When we started marketing our Misting Kits, naturally we wanted to get them in front of people in our area. Here in Sonoma County, CA, we are blessed with a wide variety of great outdoor festivals. We attended the Sonoma County Air Show, the Cotati Accordion Festival, the Sebastopol Cajun Festival, the Gravenstein Apple Fair and Infineon Raceway among others. Setting up as a vendor can be expensive. Our cost for a summer of marketing- zero, zilch, nada. Why? Because we were providing a valuable service. We not only got in free, we even got paid to be there in some cases. What a great business to be in! Even if the festival is not an IRS recognized non-profit, setting up a canopy with your company contact info and logo with a Mister Fog Misting Kit is a great way to advertise your business for FREE.

A key to the hospitality industry is getting new and repeat business. Resorts, timeshares, campgrounds, theme park all depend on word of mouth as their best advertising.

Warehouses can be a very hot place to work. A Mister Fog misting system can lower the temperature up to 30 degrees without getting the merchandise wet. Lumberyards also can be very hot. A misting system can cool the area around cutting station. Truss manufacturing companies, rebar fabricators and asphalt batch plants are just some of the outdoor manufacturing facilities where misting can be a great addition.

One of the hot new things in landscaping is mistscaping. Whether the mist comes from under the pool coping, the pool deck or slide or landscaping, mist adds a touch of mystery and suspense to any landscaping.

The 18” risers are a great way to adjust the direction of the mist to deliver it where you want it.

Cooling Outdoor fog systems have been used in outdoor cooling applications for decades. These systems can provide cooling of outdoor temperatures by up to 40 degrees Fahrenheit with virtually no noticeable increase in the relative humidity. Applications include restaurants, theme parks, hotels and resorts, arenas, tennis courts, golf facilities, fountains, waterfalls, patios, and more.

At 1000 PSI, water droplets as small as 5 microns (5 millionths of a meter) in diameter can be produced. At this level, 'flash evaporation' occurs reducing the ambient temperature. This process of 'Thermal Dynamics', is effective because water requires energy (600 calories of heat to evaporate 1 gram of water) to evaporate. This energy exchange results in reduced temperatures. The overall effectiveness of the system will depend on existing temperature and humidity levels. With high temperatures (above 80 degrees Fahrenheit) and low humidity levels (below 50%) the systems results can be dramatic. As with any evaporative cooling process, the more moisture evaporated the greater the systems cooling capability. The new Revolution Series by Fogco is the latest innovation in climate control and is ideal for evaporative cooling requirement. Because of the unique design of this unit, it can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications.

A Mister Fog Canopy Misting Kit is an easy way to make your little bit of paradise even better. How great would it be to be sitting out under your awning in temperatures up to 30 degrees cooler than your neighbors? Remember, because the droplets evaporate so quickly- you don’t feel wet- just cool.

If you are feeling particularly generous, perhaps the park management would allow you to set up the misting kit at the swimming pool or near the playground. If you do, be sure to place some nozzles close to the ground so the kids can get their faces in the mist. They love it! If your misting it is connected to potable water (and we highly recommend it is) there is no need to be concerned about health issues.

Because there are so many styles of awnings, our kits probably won’t connect to your awning readily without a little bit of help. But, with 3 or 4 small spring clamps, you can quickly and easily attach it to the canopy of your travel trailer. The only additional thing you might need is a hose splitter and a 25 foot garden hose since most hook ups are on the far side of the trailer from the awning. Also, a Mister Fog Canopy Misting Kit takes up little of your precious storage space.

Think how much air conditioning costs could be saved and how much more comfortable you would be if the air next to your roof was 30 degrees cooler than the ambient temperature. I have not had a chance to try this, but I deduce that misting would be a great way to cool buildings from the outside. If anyone is willing to try this, I would cut you a good deal on the equipment if you would be willing to document the experiment. Here is the reasoning. Buildings are heated as the short wave lengths of the sun hit the roof. As the roofs heat, they emit shorter wave lengths back to the air above the roof. This change from short to long wave length is the cause for the ‘greenhouse effect’. If, however, we would mist the air directly above the roof the extreme heat emitted from the roof would cause the droplets to evaporate very quickly. As the water evaporated, it would leave behind cooler air that is next to the roof.

If anyone is willing to try this or has an issue with my science or description, please contact me at Thank you.
